A new device called a Lung Flute uses low frequency vibration from an acoustic wind-blown horn to loosen mucus to it can be spit up or swallowed. The device has been FDA approved for diagnostic use and thereputic approval is pending. It is seen as an non-invasive means of alleviating the suffering of individuals with asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory disease.

The device is said to work by sending vibrations that resonate in the chest, chinging the viscousity of mucus so it becomes more flowable.
In this regard, it is a lot like a shofar. Blowing on shofar produces a vibration that resonates with our soul, making it easier for us to free ourselves from character defects, grudges, and other maladies.
